Why it’s in
- Built for robots that move outdoors: IP67, synchronised global shutter and a GMSL2 coax link with cables up to 10 m.
- Mature software: ZED SDK with neural depth and integration with NVIDIA Isaac ROS.
- Stereolabs (offices in Paris, San Francisco and New York) has had a larger parent, Ouster, since February 2026.
What bothers us
- Not plug-and-play on a laptop: needs a GMSL2 capture card on a Jetson or a ZED Box.
- Depth is computed by the ZED SDK on the host's NVIDIA GPU, not inside the camera.
- Cables are sold separately and the store prices only in USD.
