Which one?

ANTHBOT N8

Choose the N8 if you want clippings and autumn leaves off your lawn. It collects them in a 23 l basket and empties it by itself, on lawns of 800 to 1,500 m². It costs less, and netzwelt rated it ‘gut’ (1.8).

Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD

Choose the LUBA 3 AWD if your garden is steep or shaded: all-wheel drive for slopes up to 80% and 360° LiDAR with two cameras. It cuts 400 mm wide and runs up to 215 minutes per charge.

ANTHBOT N8: Why it’s on our list

  • netzwelt test 09/2026: 'gut' (1.8), with good results in both collecting and mulching mode
  • Stands out among wire-free mowers (Notebookcheck): it also collects clippings and autumn leaves and empties its basket by itself, reliably in that test
  • Reliable RTK navigation (Notebookcheck) and a good app with fine manual control (netzwelt)

Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD: Why it’s on our list

  • AWD plus LiDAR, built for steep, shaded gardens (80% slopes)
  • Hands-on UK review: reliable under tree cover and can mow at night
  • No perimeter wire or RTK antenna to install

ANTHBOT N8: What bothers us

  • Loud for a robotic mower: Notebookcheck measured about 70 dB at one metre
  • Nearly 1 m long with the basket: turns poorly in tight gardens and leaves wide uncut strips at edges and in corners
  • Needs a drop-off area of at least 1.5 × 1.5 m, and switching between collecting and mulching is fiddly (netzwelt)
  • Mixed results on obstacles: reliable for netzwelt, mediocre for Notebookcheck. NetRTK is free for the first year, then €39.90 a year

Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD: What bothers us

  • Premium price
  • Relies on 4G/Wi-Fi; 4G is included for 3 years
  • Not part of the Stiftung Warentest 2026 test

Short answers

Which is cheaper, the ANTHBOT N8 or the Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD?

The N8. In Europe it costs from €1,599 in ANTHBOT’s German and EU stores, the LUBA 3 AWD from €2,099 in Mammotion’s EU store, for the 1500 version. In the US: N8 from $1,699, LUBA 3 AWD from $2,799 for the 3000 version, since the 1500 and 5000 are sold out there.

Which is better for a steep or shaded garden?

The LUBA 3 AWD. With all-wheel drive it climbs slopes up to 80% (38.6°), and a hands-on review from the UK found it reliable under trees. The N8 manages slopes up to 45%.

Which is better for a large lawn?

On paper, the LUBA 3 AWD. It cuts 400 mm wide, twice the N8’s 20 cm, and runs up to 215 minutes per charge. The N8 mows for 70 to 90 minutes. The LUBA 3 AWD 1500 is made for 1,500 m², and Mammotion also sells a 3000 and a 5000. The N8 is made for 800 to 1,500 m², about 200 m² per charge with the basket.

What is the main difference?

What they are built for. The N8 also collects clippings and autumn leaves in a 23 l basket and empties it by itself. It needs a drop-off area of at least 1.5 × 1.5 m. The LUBA 3 AWD has no basket in its spec sheet. It is built for steep, shaded gardens, with all-wheel drive, 360° LiDAR and two cameras.

Do they need a subscription?

For some services. On the N8, NetRTK over 4G is free for the first year, then it costs a yearly fee. The LUBA 3 AWD relies on 4G or Wi-Fi: Mammotion includes 3 years of 4G data, after that it needs a subscription. NetRTK comes only on the 3000 and 5000, and Mammotion’s EU store lists it as free for life.
