Why it’s in

A proven research platform: over a thousand users in 23 countries have used Stretch since 2020, and Hello Robot positions it as a platform for foundation-model developers.
Wheeled and slim by design, which its makers argue is safer around people than a humanoid; the arm, lift and base run twice as fast as on Stretch 3.

What bothers us

Expensive once equipped: the docking station (US$1,495) and on-robot AI computer (US$2,995) are extra, and the standard warranty is 1 year.
Ships from the US with no EU distributor; payment by wire, check or purchase order only, and CE marking is not stated.
Out of the box it is mostly human-in-the-loop (teleoperation, mapping, navigation, a grasping demo). Hello Robot plans only 200–300 units at first.
