Why it’s in

  • Tested in real plants: Mercedes-Benz has piloted Apollo in Berlin-Marienfelde and Kecskemét (Hungary) and holds a stake in Apptronik.
  • Hot-swappable batteries (about 4 h each) and about 25 kg payload suit real logistics work.
  • Well funded (US$520 million round in February 2026), built on a decade of humanoid work including NASA’s Valkyrie, and a hardware partner of Google DeepMind.

What bothers us

  • Pilot deployments only: no open sales and no public price.
  • Apollo 2 appeared only as a quiet website update (June 2026), without a full public spec sheet.
  • No EU sales channel, although Mercedes-Benz tests it in Germany and Hungary.
